Landcare
Landcare is an organisation that is committed to doing something practical about protecting and repairing our environment. More than 4,000 volunteer community landcare groups – including bushcare and urban landcare, rivercare, coastcare and sustainable agriculture groups – are tackling land degradation in every corner of Australia.
The local Landcare group is the Geary's Gap/Wamboin Landcare Group.
Membership
Membership of this group is free.
Activities are notified to members via email and also advertised where possible in the Wamboin Whisper.
If you would like to become a member, please send a message to the secretary, Chris Fowler via email. Likewise, if you would like to be removed from the email list, please send a message to the secretary.
Propagation sessions
Propagation sessions are held on the first Saturday of each month at Geoff Butler's place, 38 Birchman's Grove, Wamboin, 9am - 11am; enquiries to Geoff Butler on ph 62369158, or via email. All hands are welcome!
Meetings
We have stopped conducting regular meetings in the Bywong community hall, and instead, we have a range of other activities such as field days and rambles. Also, we have extended the monthly propagation sessions to include education on plant identification (especially weeds), propagation methods and other topics of interest.
Next Plant Sale
Wamboin Market 21 November (at the Wamboin community hall, Bingley Way).
