Using local landscapes, actors and crew, writer/director Richard Jameson is passionately committed to developing a locally based film company, using the talent that exists in the local community. "Bungendore, Wamboin and Bywong district have amazing landscapes and colours that have not been exploited as backdrops for films" Richard said. "There are also incredibly talented people living in the area and it is not until you start putting together a project like this film that you understand and realise the talent and support in the local community."
The Wamboin Web caught up with the cast and crew on the first day of the two-day shoot as they were filming the company's first short film, ‘Renewal' on location at Don and Penny Evans' house in Norton Road.
‘Renewal' is a story of birth, loss, love and a couple's struggle to reconnect. Based on an original story by freelance writer, Katie Wyatt, and first published in The Big Issue, it has been turned into a screenplay by Richard. Megan Wickman, Rob Corrigan and Nicole Jones take the lead roles. Local actors Joanne Argaet and Katherine Harris play a doctor and a nurse in the film.
The crew are mostly friends; actually, they are mostly family, Abraham(16) is on camera and steadi-cam and youngest daughter Georgia-Rae(11) is the clapper loader and production assistant to her dad. Julie, the production manager, says her job is to make the tea, but there was a bit more organising than that going on! Experienced film maker, Matt Kemp is assistant director and advisor for the film and keeps the production schedule on time.

The company's second film "Stood Up - The story of Mick and Sasha" is about an ageing blues guitarist who arrives in town to play a gig and confront his past but ends up hiding behind his music. Not to be outdone by his wife Joanne, Dave Argaet takes the lead role as the ageing blues guitarist and singer in this upcoming film. Production on this film starts at the end of October.
